My journey to flowers
Flowers came to me after a tumultuous season of life and helped me find parts of myself that had been hidden for some time and parts of myself that I didn’t even know where there.
In the spring of 2021, our sweet neighbor offered up some of her yard space for me to try having a garden (we had a postage stamp sized yard at the time). In my mind, my “ideal self” was a cute little gardener, living off of the land. I didn’t know if that was reality, but this was my chance to try.
The vegetables were…mediocre.
But the flowers… That was where the joy was!
For the first time since entering the all-consuming journey of motherhood 7 years prior, I was excited and eager to learn about something new. I had not found a passion like this since becoming a mom. I was up late reading books and blog posts about growing, I was following all of the Instagram accounts, I was listening to flower podcasts, and I was religiously searching Zillow for some land.
After a few years of healing, my husband and I knew we were ready for a new adventure.
And it came in the form a beautiful 1920s craftsman home that my husband could fully renovate into our dream home, and 3 acres of land for me to dream of what a flower farm could truly be.
We are moving into our third full summer in this home and I feel more passionately than ever that this space has been given to us to invite others to experience the same peace we have found.
We want all who come here to breathe easy in the fresh air, get their hands a little dirty, and walk away with the calm and ease that only nature brings.
We truly believe that you belong here.
I hope you’ll join me out here at Wild Flower Farm.
Cheers, Jill
